Utilitarian and contemporary pottery
Bowls, cups, plates, salad bowls and other pieces of contemporary and functional tableware are handmade on the potter’s wheel with self-made glazes.
Ceramic tableware features
The pieces made on the potter´s wheel are all unique and unrepeatable. We use a high resistance stoneware that does not chip or break with use. We make pieces of different sizes and shapes adapting to the use of the piece. The glazes have been formulated by us with our own exclusive recipes. Do not contain toxic products and are suitable for culinary use. All these pieces can be put in the dishwasher, microwave and do not crack over time. We make original pieces with their own identity but adapting to the requests and needs of our clients.
Curiosities
The bowl was probably one of the first pieces that was used in prehistoric ceramics and it has in itself the shape of the union of two open hands covering its maximum capacity. It is a piece that when you hold it in your hands you feel the energy of the hands that created it.
How is it done?
First we shape the piece on the potter’s wheel. Then it is left to dry. To finish the piece, we turn it over, and remove the unwanted clay. If it has a handle, this is the moment to put it on. When it is completely dry, we place the piece into the kiln for the first time, reaching a temperature of around 1000ºC. Once the piece is fired, we enamel with one or more glazes. We put the piece back into the kiln where it melts at a temperature of more than 1200 ºC, which adds color, glaze and depth to the piece.
